SongFinder basics

What is SongFinder?

SongFinder is a free online song finder that identifies the song name and artist from almost any source. Paste a video link from TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, X (Twitter), Reddit, Pinterest, Douyin or SoundCloud, upload an audio or video file, record music playing nearby with your microphone, or search by a few remembered lyrics. No app, no account and no download is ever needed.

Is SongFinder really free?

Yes, SongFinder is completely free. There is no account, no signup, no app install and no payment. Open the site, paste a link or upload a clip, and get the song name and artist.

Do I need to download the video first?

No. Paste the video link and SongFinder pulls the audio from the link directly, so you never need to download or convert the video yourself. This works for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, X, Reddit, Pinterest, Douyin and SoundCloud links.

What file formats can I upload?

You can upload common audio and video formats, including MP3, WAV and MP4. Uploading is useful when the clip is already saved on your device, like a screen recording or a video from your camera roll.

Can I identify a song playing near me?

Yes. Use the microphone option and let SongFinder listen to the music playing around you. It works in the browser on iPhone, Android and desktop, so there is nothing to install.

Can I find a song if I only remember some lyrics?

Yes. Type the words you remember into the lyrics search, even a short fragment, and SongFinder matches them to the song.

How fast is SongFinder?

Most matches appear in about 10 seconds. Difficult clips can take up to 30 seconds, because SongFinder keeps listening instead of failing fast. That extra patience is why it finds songs that quicker tools miss.

How accurate is SongFinder?

SongFinder is built for difficult audio and stays accurate where many tools fail. It handles background music with people talking over it, muffled recordings, and sped-up or slowed-down edits, and it keeps listening for up to 30 seconds on hard clips instead of giving up.

Find songs on each platform

How do I find a song from a TikTok video?

Copy the TikTok video link, paste it into SongFinder, and the song and artist appear in about 10 seconds. It works on normal videos and on sped-up or remixed TikTok sounds, with no app and no video download needed.

How do I find a song from an Instagram Reel?

Copy the Reel link and paste it into SongFinder. It identifies the song even when the Instagram audio label is missing, renamed or wrong, and it works fully in the browser.

How do I find a song from a YouTube video or Short?

Paste the YouTube or YouTube Shorts link into SongFinder and it finds the background song from the link alone. You do not need to download the video or skip through it manually.

How do I find a song from a Facebook video or Reel?

Copy the Facebook video or Reel link and paste it into SongFinder. The tool reads the audio from the link and names the song and artist.

How do I find a song from a Snapchat video?

Paste the Snapchat video link into SongFinder. Snapchat removed its built-in song finder, so SongFinder fills the gap for Snaps and Spotlight videos.

How do I find a song from a Pinterest video?

How do I find a song from a Douyin video?

Paste the Douyin video link into SongFinder and it identifies the song from the link, the same way it works for TikTok.

How do I identify a track from SoundCloud?

Paste the SoundCloud link into SongFinder and it identifies the track behind it.

Troubleshooting

What should I do if SongFinder finds no match?

Try a longer or cleaner part of the clip where the music is loudest, ideally the chorus. If you used a link, try uploading the file or recording the audio with the microphone instead. Very obscure or unreleased tracks may simply not exist in any music database yet.

Does SongFinder work on muffled or noisy audio?

Yes. SongFinder is designed for exactly that. It reads through background noise, speech over the music and muffled recordings, and on difficult clips it keeps listening for up to 30 seconds instead of failing fast.

Can SongFinder identify sped-up, slowed-down or remixed songs?

Yes. SongFinder recognizes sped-up and slowed-down edits, which are common on TikTok and Reels, and it can match remix and edit versions back to the original track.

What do the results include?

Each result shows the song title and artist, plus links to listen on Spotify, YouTube and other platforms, so you can play or save the full track right away.

Privacy and devices

Is SongFinder safe to use?

Yes. SongFinder runs in your browser, needs no account and no app install, and identifying a song from a link never downloads the video to your device.

Does SongFinder store or share my recordings?

No. Your recordings and uploads are used only to find the match. They are not stored permanently, and they are never shared or sold.

Which devices and languages does SongFinder support?

SongFinder works in the browser on iPhone, Android and desktop, and the site is available in 13 languages. There is nothing to install.
